Strict Material Requirements
 

Glass spacer bar:

Metal: Aluminum and stainless steel (wall thickness 0.09-0.4mm only), must meet GB/T 11944 standards.

 

Warm edge:

Composite materials such as TPS/4SG/super spacers (thermal conductivity ≤0.15 W/(m·K)). PVC and ordinary plastics are strictly prohibited (high-temperature softening leads to seal failure).

 

Other building spacers:

PVC, aluminum alloys, stone, and other common building materials can be used; no special thermal performance requirements.

Transportation and Storage Environment

 

Moisture prevention is paramount:

 

The desiccant (molecular sieve) inside the spacer strip is active. If the warehouse environment is too humid, or if the packaging is damaged and water gets in, the desiccant will prematurely absorb moisture and become ineffective. This will render it useless even if placed inside glass, and the glass will quickly fog up.

Avoid rough handling:

 

Although aluminum strips are flexible, they are susceptible to scratches from sharp objects. Once a deep scratch damages the oxide layer, rust can easily start from the wound, affecting appearance and lifespan.

Bending and Processing Details

Control the bending radius:

Although high-frequency welded aluminum strips can be bent, they should not be bent arbitrarily. If the angle is too small (less than 5mm), or if the bend is too sharp, the weld seam is prone to cracking due to excessive stress, leading to air leakage.

Beware of corner interference:

If you are using corner-type aluminum strips, be careful when bending. If the aluminum strip cut is uneven, or the corner size is not properly matched, the sealant can be punctured during assembly, leaving a potential air leakage hazard.

 

Cleaning and Assembly Operation

Removing oil is key:

If there is oil or dust on the surface of the aluminum strip, the sealant will not adhere properly. It is recommended to wipe it lightly with a clean cloth before assembly to ensure the surface is dry.

Do not block the vents:

Be extremely careful during installation to avoid blocking the vents on the side of the aluminum strip with sealant or debris. If the vents are blocked, the desiccant inside cannot function and loses its moisture-absorbing purpose.
