Distinguishing the quality of insulating glass spacer strips essentially boils down to their ability to effectively trap gas and moisture over extended periods. You can assess this from these four core dimensions.

High-quality spacer strips must have a smooth, flat surface with uniform color. Rough surfaces, scratches, yellowing, whitish discoloration, or rough, sharp edges indicate poor manufacturing quality. They must also possess extremely high straightness, exhibiting no noticeable wavy distortion when laid flat.

Hold them in your hand; high-quality aluminum strips feel heavy and are highly resilient and resistant to deformation when bent; inferior strips are often too soft or too hard, even breaking easily when bent. In addition, carefully observe the side vents; they must be neatly arranged and have high transparency to ensure the internal desiccant effectively absorbs moisture.

This directly determines whether the glass will leak. High-frequency welded aluminum strips can achieve integrated bending, with smooth, seamless corners, cutting off the leakage path at the source. If it's a traditional corner splicing process, you must carefully check whether the four corners are tightly joined without gaps; even slight carelessness can create hidden problems.

Proper spacer strips must have clear manufacturer markings and quality inspection reports; avoid anything with an unreasonably low price. Also, don't overlook the desiccant (molecular sieve) inside. Take a handful and sprinkle some water; the faster and higher the temperature rises, the better the moisture absorption effect. This is the last line of defense against fogging.
